Sheriff's officer arrested

BOGALUSA - James Alan Mueller, 42, of 302 Robertson St. was arrested on Friday, July 22 and charged with two counts of monetary instrument abuse. Mueller was a prison transport officer with the Washington Parish Sheriff's Department.

A spokesman for the department said, "We were advised by a local merchant in Franklinton that [Mueller] had cashed a money order that turned out to be a fake money order."
