Man Dies In Taser Incident

The incident occurred at approximately 4 a.m. at the AM/PM market on Blossom Hill Road. Clerks reported that two men were fighting inside the store and when officers arrived one suspect attempted to flee on foot. Officers gave chase and a struggle ensued in which the suspect, whose identity is not being released, was sprayed with pepper spray, struck with a police baton and had a Taser gun used on him. The suspect lapsed into unconsciousness as officers were preparing to use the WRAP restraint device on him. He later died at a local hospital, according to San Jose Police Sgt. Nick Muyo.
