Officers Cleared in Taser Death

Dr. John Hain, who conducted the autopsy, cited the cause of death as ventricular arrhythmia due to methamphetamine intoxication. The district attorney's report also stated that the shocks from the Taser were listed as contributing factors in Rosa's death.

Last week Amnesty International reported that 75 people have died from Taser use in the past four years in the United States and Canada. The company, Taser International, said that in the majority of those cases the cause of death was partially related to heart problems, drug overdose or asphyxiation.
