Police Officer Faces Sexual Assault Charges
A Conroe Independent School District police officer turned himself in to the Montgomery County Jail Thursday to face charges of sexual assault of at least one Oak Ridge High School female student.
Additional charges of sexual assault on two more ORHS students are pending, according to prosecutors with the Montgomery County District Attorney's office.
Donald Paul Mauro, 42, of Port Lavaca, a part-time CISD police officer and full-time firefighter with the Houston Fire Department, was accompanied by CISD Police Sgt. Gale Echols and Ruben Garza, an assistant district attorney, when Mauro turned himself in for booking to the Montgomery County Jail around 11 a.m. Thursday. His bond has been set at $250,000 by 9th District Court Judge Fred Edwards, who signed the arrest warrant on the first charge and, on Thursday, said he "signed the search warrant affidavit on the third child."
