FIU police officer investigated for sexual assault

Miami-Dade County -- A Florida International University police officer is under investigation for allegedly sexually assaulting someone while on duty, university officials said Monday in a statement.

Officer Frederick Currie, 35, is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation by the Miami-Dade Police Department, the statement said. The incident occurred off campus early Friday morning, the statement said.
