Officer admits to lesser charge
A Billings police officer charged in January with drunken driving after a late-night accident has been sentenced after pleading guilty to a lesser charge.
Shane Schaff was given a 90-day suspended jail sentence and was ordered to pay a $300 fine after pleading guilty last week in Justice Court to a reduced charge of misdemeanor reckless driving. Schaff was initially charged with misdemeanor DUI for a one-vehicle rollover accident on Jan. 22.
