Macon County correctional officer arrested for allegedly stealing while working part-time job with vending machines

DECATUR - A third-shift correctional officer at Macon County Jail has been arrested for allegedly stealing money from the vending machine company for which he worked part time.

The 34-year-old Decatur man was arrested Friday on a bus in Columbia, Mo. Springfield, Ill., police who were looking for the man determined he had purchased a ticket from a local bus station for a bus to Seattle, Wash., which stops in Columbia, said Springfield police Sgt. Kevin Keen.
